Dear Joanie,

I just received you letter. When I saw the envelope I couldn't open it fast enough. I was so glad to see it was from you.

I'm really and truly sorry to hear that you're depressed. But I know that feeling too well, and up until Sunday around 5:10P.M. I was sharing the same feeling with you. (I'll explain within the next paragraph.) Do you remember most of the time we shared the same experience at approximately the same time? Once in awhile we were off. Well I was in the same boat, feeling depressed and also was anticipating an explosion of some sort. It was so bad it was almost blowing my mind. My solution? Well I'll explain.

This last Sunday i was sitting around watching T.V. (Sherrill & Lenny went out of town for the weekend so I was all alone.) I decided this is for the birds. I suddenly remembered that my Boss Gary (the Owner of the Company, he's 32 and married) told me that they started to jam at Marina del Rey (the in place or suburb on the beach, one of the beaches I should say) at about 4:30P.M. on Sundays. So about 4:00P.M. I got up from my chair, got dressed, and went down there. There are hundreds of restaurant lounges (something like but much more high class and on a larger scale than the ground floor) Anyways I went to a place called the Second Story, by myself. I ordered a drink and stood listening to this fantastic group that was playing there. I spotted this guy sitting at a table alone also. Now listen to this!!! I walked over to him, asked if he was with anyone, and he replied no, so I proceeded to say, "Would you like some company?!" He moved over and said "Sure." Do you believe that I did that?! Well I did! I couldn't believe it myself. Well anyway, he ended up asking me to dinner and he took me to this fantastic place called the Lobster House. (By the way all of these places have a view of the docks & marinas where people dock their yachts and Cabin Cruisers and these beautiful sailboats and whatever.) We hit it off fantastic. He came over to my house from there (dinner) at that point we had spent from 5:10P.M. until 11:30P.M. until we arrived at my home. He came in and we watched T.V. Talked a lot more, and I mean talked. He stayed with me until Sherrill and Lenny came home which was 4:50AM. We all ended up staying up and never going to sleep. His name is Frank. Frank left Monday afternoon about 1:00PM. Came back for dinner at 6:30. Sherrill invited him. I never ended up going to work and neither did he. I called in sick and so did he. Sherrill doesn't work on Mondays, but poor Lenny he had to go to work at 6:00AM and worked (10 hours). Anyways, I'm going out with Frank tonight (Tuesday) and tomorrow and Saturday. In two weeks (the weekend of Dec 1st) he's planning to take me to Las Vegas. I've never been there. Frank is 33, will be 34 on March 13, pisces of all things. Did I spell that right? I don't think so but anyway, you know what I mean. He was born in France and moved to Australia at the age of 11. He has a British accent & speaks French fluently. Next question is he Jewish. Well yes & no. His mother is but his father wasn't, but according to Jewish laws if the mother of the child was or is Jewish, he is considered a Jew and won't ever have to convert. He is considered a full blooded Jew.

Next question. What does he do for a living? Get this, he is a chemist (scientist). He is the head chemist for Gillette (you know, the razor blades and they have subsidiaries, also). He's lived in the U.S. for 12 years. They came from Australia to Calif.

He's darling and I'm attracted and he's very affectionate and most important very attentive towards me.

So how do you like that for an experience?

What I tried to bring out is that yours will come pretty soon. Because I just got mine Sunday (for a long time I hope).

In the meantime I'll say a little prayer for you each night to help it along a little faster.

I have to end he'll be here any moment.

I miss you more than you'll ever know and love ya too!!

With all my love,

Evelyn

P.S. Write soon and give my regards to Chuck & Ronnie & whoever!

P.S. In case you see any of my family don't mentioned Frank. I want to see what develops before I start writing home about him. Ok?!

My mother asked me about you last week. She said you said you’d call or stop in. She really likes you, you know, so why don't you just give her a buzz and say hi. She said she only wanted to know if you're alive. She didn't hear from you or see you since the airport when you took me.

Again, all my love,

Evelyn

P.S. The poem or rather song is beautiful. I never heard it before.
