Dear Joan,
I have to write because I cannot really afford to call you. How are things going? The last time I talked to you, you were making a decision on (1) whether to move in with David, (2) get your own place with the help of your friend, and (3) not really one of your choices, but to keep things the way things have been with Diane. What did you come up with?
Joan, lately I have been thinking a lot about God and about coming back to him. I never really thought I would feel this way. One of the reasons is to have inner peace & a clear conscious. I have not really made a decision yet. I met a girl who works at Higbee's. She is a waitress & went to brush. You may know her, Debbie. She says she has talked to you. Anyway, I went to her church which is temp. in Orange H.S. auditorium because it only formed about 3 years ago. I was surprised when I saw the Dempsey's there. They and everyone is very nice and they really seem to generate a happiness & a glow. You probably think I'm really freaked out on religion, but to tell you the truth, I feel I am missing something and there are certain things I cannot change by myself.
Is Alan out in Calif. now? I ask because there is a man who looks almost identical to him at Tri C. The same color hair & style. I'm not sure because he sometimes eyes me but doesn't really say anything. Either he's not sure if he knows me (I think he only met me once w/ you) or it isn't even him.
Anna's is opening soon again only if it will be where the Saints & Sinners is at Eastgate. This is a short letter but I like to keep in touch. Waiting to hear from you, but like they say, "No news is good news."
Love,
Judy
