Dear Joan,

The reason you didn't get my letter was because I did throw it away. After my last phone call to you & the fact that you didn't get back to me I figured you were living & madly in love with some guy.

Getting your letter was a big up for me. Joan, I have never lied to you about my feelings for you. There isn't a day goes by that I don't think about you. (but enough of this bull-shit).

My job is great and it seems to be going very well. I spend a great deal of time between New York & Detroit & think about you as I pass over Cleveland.

I'm glad that you have some place nice to stay "rent free," but as you and I both know, there are all kinds of ways to pay the rent.

I hope your sister has a great time in Los Angeles, as I'm sure she will.

I will keep my fingers crossed that you will be coming to New Year & that you won't have to spend all your time with your "landlord." Maybe if I got you here I could find some way of keeping you.

Please write & I always miss you.

Love

Jerry
