Dear Joanie,
I was glad to hear from you as always.
Hey! This new guy sounds like a real dream come true, but be careful that kind of dream sometimes has a tendency to fade just as fast! I'm very happy for you regardless, just don't let your heart get carried away until you know exactly what's happening. I know it's easy to say. I should be the last one to tell you, but from experience we both know it's the truth. Just try to keep the thought logged somewhere in your mind okay? For safety sake.
I talked with my mom last night, she said she met Chuck. She was with Eileen, and she told him I was engaged. She said he was thrilled and I'm sure he was too!
My mother asked me why you didn't tell him. So I said to her "I told her not to say she knew anything," and you were keeping your word. Anyways, my mother was in very good spirits, I mean that. She talked with Larry for a few minutes and also told him she loved him and can't wait to meet him. That was a switch. When I talked to her, she again told me to tell Larry she loves him. That made me feel like a million dollars. You can't imagine, I'm so happy, I can't tell you. He (Larry) is just great, really a wonderful guy. You see when things are going good with me, shortly after things go good with you. Remember I told you over the phone when you called me that it's your turn and it will come soon and it did. How do you like that? This situation has also happened in reverse, when things were going good for you, soon after there were going good for me. So the thousands of miles between us just doesn't really matter, do they?
When you get back to Cleve from Columbus, please call my mother. She will be thrilled to hear from you. You're the only one of my friends who hasn't called and you are the closest to me. She keeps asking me why you haven't called. I don't want her to get angry. So please call just say hi, if anything, Okay?!
I will close for now. Keep in touch with me & my mom. She'll also let you know who will or will not pick me up from the airport. Don't go to work that day Fri June 21st I want you a the airport whether you drive or not.
If she or someone from the family picks me up, I want you there. So don't go to work that Friday the 21st. Okay?!
With all my love,
Evelyn
PS. Larry says hello! And sends his best!
